The general responsibilities of AAA include:           < Back >

• Planning a comprehensive and coordinated system of services to meet the needs of the older citizens within their service area.
• Reporting to the Nebraska Health and Human Services - Division on Aging.
• Technical assistance, monitoring, funding, coordinating, and in some instances providing, local programs, services, and activities.
• Referral to local agencies that provide services to the older population.
• Providing CHOICES and Case Management services for frail older citizens who need supportive services to remain independent and in their own homes.
• Liaison with elected officials.
• Legislative interaction.
• Community education and public information activities.

Service provision and administration may vary among AAAs, but the overall mission remains the same.
