The AOWN provides support services to family caregivers and grandparents or older individuals that are relative caregivers. A caregiver is one who is an informal provider on in-home and community care to an older individual.
RESPITE: The AOWN can arrange and assist in securing short-term relief for caregivers from their caregiving responsibilities.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEMS: The AOWN has made arrangements with providers of emergency response systems in the Panhandle, for the AOWN to provide financial assistance to older persons who are in need of a Lifeline or emergency response system.
CAREGIVER TRAINING: The AOWN coordinates training sessions for caregivers in the form of stress management, decision making, and problem solving. The schedule for 2004 is available by contacting the AOWN.
