AOWN Service Area

The Service Area of the AOWN is composed of the eleven Counties of the Panhandle of Nebraska. This area covers 14,138 square miles or 18% of the area of the State of Nebraska. Within this eleven County area there are thirty-six villages/towns. Per the 2000 Census the total population of the Panhandle Counties as a composite is 90,410 or 7% of the total State population. The elderly population, 60 or older, of the Panhandle totals 19,667 citizens or 22% of the total population of the Panhandle.
